Poem...I am Native

I am
Native American.

Within
me
walks the
wisdom
of a
thousand
ancestors.

Strong in
the way
of the
ancient.

Wise in
the way
of the
earth.

They discern
the way
of
creation.

They mourn
 death
yet walk
in rebirth.

Reaching
inward
they
embrace
eternity.

Touching
heaven
walking
earth.

They
become
one.

As I
become one
with all
that have
walked
before me.
